It only costs $60, and it is usually a warm up for me to play the cash games at Borgata all night long. I've played in probably two dozen of these tournies in AC, and I've placed a copule of times. Blinds usually go up every 20 minutes so be prepared to make a move very early in the tournament or else be blinded out within two hours.
The blind structures are also going to be very aggressive in these tournaments. If you are able to take your bad beats in stride, and just relax you should enjoy this type of tournie. If you don't enjoy getting busted by an inexperienced player, then I would avoid this type of tournament. It is important to remember that the cheaper tournaments usually have some inexperienced players who typically dish out bad beats. If there are 150 players, first place should be between $2500-4000. A typical tournament at the Taj or Borgata gets between 150-300 players, so you can do the math to determine what first place would pay out. The top ten percent of the field gets paid, with first place taking roughly 40% of the total prize pool.
I find the cheaper buy-in tournaments to be very entertaining if I am in the right mood. It all depends on what you are looking for.
